Our Story
It Started With Three Mothers:
A lot of people ask, "How did you come up with this organization?"
All three of us have a dream that our children will have a better future. And this dream is the dream of countless parents of children with special needs. "I Can Fly” is their best wish for their children. Along the way, we support each other, encourage each other, and grow together.
Building a Community:
iCan Fly is a non-profit organization co-founded by three mothers of autistic children in Massachusetts. As parents of children with autism, we understand the challenges and difficulties of raising a child with special needs, as well as the support and resources families like ours need. That's why we decided to form an organization to provide support and assistance to children and families with special needs. We hope to create specific programs for teens and adolescents in the future.
Our Vision:
Our members come from all walks of life: MBAs with medical backgrounds; Successful business people; Former finance professional, who chose to put aside her careers in order to devote full attention to raising her special-needs child.
Between our founders, our members, and our generous volunteers, we are a community that share a common goal and belief that we can support families to get more help and help them grow up with their children.
Our goal is to create a transparent and fair platform for parents of children with special needs to find the most effective ways and resources to help their children grow up. At the same time, we also hope to provide special needs children with the opportunity to integrate with neurotypical children, and to promote an understanding and supportive community especially for Asian children.
We believe that through our efforts, these children and their families can receive more professional support and resources, to have more opportunities to communicate and integrate with other families and children.
